Taylor Swift Breaks Multiple Billboard Records With ‘Speak Now (Taylor's Version)’

Castles crumbling? More like records. Taylor Swift's latest re-released album, Speak Now (Taylor's Version), has been dominating the Billboard charts since its arrival on July 7, allowing its owner to break multiple chart records in the process.

Re-records breaking records: Speak Now (Taylor's Version) debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, allowing Swift to surpass Barbra Streisand to become the female artist with the most No. 1 albums in Billboard history. The two were previously tied with 11 No. 1 albums. Swift is also the first woman to have four albums in the Top 10 simultaneously with Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), Lover, Midnights, and Folklore, all currently on the chart. She's also the first artist to have nine albums sell over 500,000 copies in a single week and the only act to have achieved a new No. 1 album in each of the last five calendar years.

Heating up the Hot 100: Additionally, all 22 songs from Speak Now (Taylor's Version) debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously, giving Swift 212 career appearances on the chart, the second-most entries of all time. She passed the cast of Glee, with 207 Hot 100 appearances, and sits behind Drake, who has 296. One of those songs, "I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)," is at No. 5 on the Hot 100, making Swift the first artist since the Beatles to have singles from three different albums in the Top 10, as the Lover track "Cruel Summer" is at No. 9 and Midnights' Karma is at No 10.

Swift still has three re-recorded albums to release — her 2006 self-titled debut, 2014's 1989 and 2017's Reputation, giving her plenty of opportunities to further her own record-breaking numbers.
