Taylor Swift Announces ‘1989 (Taylor's Version)’

It's time for another Taylor's Version! After weeks of guessing, Swifties finally got it right when Swift announced during her concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday night that her next re-recorded album will be 1989, arriving on October 27.

The announcement: Swift shared the news of her latest re-record on the final night of the first U.S. leg of her Eras Tour, which happened to fall on 8/9, aka 8 years, 9 months and 13 days (iykyk) since the release of the original album on October 27, 2014. Fans were also tipped off to the fact that a 1989 announcement was coming when Swift wore a new costume during an earlier L.A. show that looked similar to one she had worn on her 1989 World Tour, which she referenced during her mid-concert announcement.

"You might have noticed there are some new outfits in the show. There's something that I've been planning for a really, really, really ridiculously, embarrassingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I think I'll just sort of show you," she said before unveiling the new cover art and release date on the big screen and performing "New Romantics" from the album's deluxe edition.

1989 was Swift's first fully pop record and won the singer her second Grammy for Album of the Year. 1989 (Taylor's Version) will feature five from The Vault songs and a rumored, potentially Internet-shaking cameo from Harry Styles, who is said to have inspired multiple songs on the project ("Style," get it?).

What she's saying: "Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you [soon]!" Swift wrote on social media. "The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!"
