CTM Outlander Acquires Dutch Music Company Strengholt Music Group

CTM Outlander, the partnership between Dutch music firm CTM and Outlander Capital focused on acquiring music rights, has purchased the Dutch independent music publisher Strengholt Music Group.

Who are they? Strengholt Music Group, formerly known as Warner Basart Music, is part of the European entertainment company Strengholt. Its publishing catalog contains over 100 No. 1 hits including works by Boudewijn De Groot, Lennaert Nijgh, Ramses Shaffy, Pierre Kartner, Hans van Hemert, Ferry Corsten, Radboud Miedema, John Ewbank, Eric Van Tijn and Jochem Fluitsma and its recording catalog includes songs by Anita Meyer, Conny Vandenbos, Corry Konings, The Smurfs, Vader Abraham, MC Miker G & Deejay Sven, De Dijk and Ben Cramer.

The financial terms of the sale have not been publicly announced. CTM Outlander, a collaboration between the Texas-based Outlander Capital and Netherlands-based independent music entertainment company CTM, launched in April 2021 with $1 billion allocated for acquisitions. Recent transactions include the acquisition of songs from Grammy Award-winning UK-based songwriter and producer Fraser T Smith and Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Shane McAnally as well as SMACKSongs’ Matt McGinn, Josh Osborne, Matthew Ramsey and Trevor Rosen.

What they're saying: CTM Outlander called the deal "a milestone moment for one of the world’s fastest growing indie music publishers," adding that Strengholt is "considered one of the biggest pioneers of the Dutch music industry" and that its catalogue "contains over 100 number one hits which form part of Dutch music history." Management and music rights activities of Purple Eye Publishing and Purple Eye Entertainment are excluded from the transaction and the entities will "continue to operate separately."
