CMA Awards Reveal 2023 Nominees

Nominations for the 2023 CMA Awards are officially in, with awards show favorite Lainey Wilson leading the field with nine nominations. She's followed by first-time nominee Jelly Roll with five, Luke Combs and HARDY with four and Jordan Davis, Ashley McBryde, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, producer Joey Moi, songwriter Jordan Schmidt and musician Derek Wells with three nods apiece.

The rundown: Wilson, who also led the 2022 nominees, has made CMA Awards history as the only artist to top the nominations list in their first two appearances on the final ballot. Her many nods this year are boosted by two songs with "truck" in the title. Her "Heart Like A Truck" is up for Single of the Year and Song of the Year, while her collaboration with HARDY, "wait in the truck," is also up for Single and Song of the Year as well as Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Wilson appears in the Musical Event of the Year category twice, also with Jelly Roll for "Save Me."

Jelly Roll's nominations include Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year for "Need A Favor," Male Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year. In that last category, he's up for the trophy alongside fellow first-time nominees Zach Bryan, Megan Moroney and Hailey Whitters, as well as Parker McCollum.

Wilson, Combs, Stapleton and Wallen are all nominated for the show's top honor, Entertainer of the Year, along with Carrie Underwood. The success of Combs' cover of Tracy Chapman' "Fast Car" has garnered Chapman her first CMA nomination, as the song, which Chapman penned solo, is nominated for Song of the Year. Combs' cover is also up for Single of the Year.

Tune in: The 2023 CMA Awards air live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 8 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The show will be hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning.
