Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour Earns $579 Million, Breaks Records
Beyoncé officially concluded her Renaissance World Tour on Sunday in Kansas City, and the numbers are now in for the 56-date trek, which began its European run in May in Stockholm, Sweden before moving stateside.
The silver dollars: The tour, which played to 2.7 million fans in 10 countries and 39 cities, grossed a total of $579 million. It's now the highest-grossing tour by a female artist in history (Taylor's hasn't wrapped yet) and the seventh-highest-grossing tour overall, notable achievements especially considering the fact that the trek only had less than 60 shows.
The Renaissance World Tour brought in $10.3 million per show compared to the $2.8 million average for Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which is currently the highest-grossing tour of all time. Beyoncé's tour also broke the Billboard record for the biggest one-month gross with $127.6 million. Beyoncé also helped give the American economy a boost, generating an estimated $4.5 billion, and employed 304 people.
More Renaissance: Fans who want to relive their concert experience and those who weren't able to snag tickets will be able to see Bey on the big screen when her Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce arrives in theaters on December 1. The movie will be distributed by ACM, which also has Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert film. Estimated first-day pre-sales for Beyoncé's film for the top three exhibitors stateside were around $6-$7 million.
